Cupping & Guasha

Cupping & Guasha are traditional TCM therapies that help remove muscle adhesion and improve blood flow & oxygen to the muscles, which reduces muscle aches & pains, and promotes healing.

Often in combination with electro acupuncture, we further stimulate and promote healing, and often address the underlying root of the aches and pains.

You can use your Acupuncture Extended Health coverage for this treatment.

Cupping & Guasha Treatment is $115

Notebook

01

It Starts with a Consultation

This is a short 5 to 10 minute consult to get an idea of where the area of focus will be and what your health history is. This provides an understanding of how best to treat your area of focus

02

Then Palpation

A short 2 to 3 minute palpation in the area of focus helps the practitioner to discover the precise locations of concern or aches.

03

Often Followed by Guasha

Tools are used to apply pressure and "scrape" the skin along muscle fibers or acupuncture meridians. This stimulates blood flow, releases muscle tension & knots, and breaks up adhesions in muscle, fascia, and scar tissue. This also helps remove lactic acid and bring oxygen and nutrients to the affected area.

04

Next we Start Cupping

Cups are then used in the areas of focus. They are used with various techniques such as gliding, pulling, and stationary. These techniques bring blood flow to the area, and gently stretch the muscle, fascia, and tendons. Many athletes find significant muscle relief and recovery from this.
